How can this Mini-Mastermind help?

As a leader, you deeply care about your team, the individuals you are leading and your whole school community. You want to do the best by them and be confident in knowing you are putting the right things in place to achieve this. You have a clear vision of professional learning and growth and would like to add techniques to your toolkit to purposefully develop relationships, direction and buy in with your teams. You might feel scared that, when stepping into a new role, and without warmly exploring your leadership-style, you might repeat past mistakes and your ideas to develop a strong team, focused on growth might flop. You are a caring leader, who is keen to build strong, meaningful, valuable relationships with your staff so that you can collectively build a shared vision and have a structure in place to purposefully drive that vision forwards.

What if you could unearth and unpick the blocks that might get in your way BEFORE they happen? What if you could connect with like-minds, walking the same walk, grappling with the same problems and become part of a safe, warm support network? What if all of the solutions were out there and within you? And we can find them, polish them and gain laser-sharp conscious competence in how to build an effective, enthused team of teachers; teachers who will love their jobs, drive learning forwards and love being part of the safe, connected team you have created. No matter what your vision and values, no matter what your learning dreams for your school, this Mini-Mastermind will provide you with inspiration and tools to confidently plan your journey with your teams.

The Journey:

Weeks 1 and 2
Relationships

Building rich, strong relationships is at the heart of what we do. It is what meshes us together as school communities, what keeps us going through the hard times and ultimately what makes us happy. But how often do we pay close attention to how we built those relationships? How much time have we spent purposefully and mindfully cultivating those relationships that really matter? In our first Masterminds, we will explore the power of relationships, purposefully plan how to cultivate them and pre-plan how to restore them when things go awry.

Weeks 3 and 4
Gently and warmly developing cultures for learning

Having paid close attention to building individual and collective relationships, we will begin to explore how to onboard and enthuse your staff to become engaged leaders of their own learning. How can we begin to engage staff in their own professional learning? How can we develop agency within a learning framework? How can we encourage staff to drive learning forwards rather than us being the ones who push all of the time?.

Week 5
Focusing on the grapple

By this point, we will have gained clarity and ideas about how to drive enthusiasm and learning forward in our schools, with our teams. We will have also unearthed some collective “pain points” which will be worth exploring in more detail. Perhaps, we will be wondering how to support the most disengaged staff members? Or, we will want to plan the ins and outs of starting a school book study; or, we might want to think about how to develop warm accountability? In this week, we will have 2 “hot seats” where we will unpick our personalised areas of grapple.

Week 6
Summary and plan

In our final week, we will work together collaboratively to clarify our road maps, plans and next steps moving forwards. You will leave feeling informed, inspired and full of ideas to enthuse and develop your school teams.
